The latest on the NHF Hospitality Suite:
The DOZE shift is 4:30 to 7:30 pm, Thursday, 6/18/09. The schedule is:
* By 5:00 pm, Tuesday, 6/16 - drop off your beer(s) at B3 unless you
will take them down to NHF yourself. Use tags available at B3 to label each
keg with the information shown on the attachment. This is important so we
can identify the beer, its brewer and the event in the cellar. Attached is
Mike McDole, Cellar Master's cellaring instruction with sample label and a
Conference Center plan.
* Wednesday, 6/17 - Ray Graves and Matt Peterson will transport kegs
to NHF.
* Thursday, 6/18 at 3:00 pm - meet at the Hospitality Suite to setup.
We need 6 - 8 people and if you are serving but can't make it until 4:30
that's OK. Volunteers to serve are: Arlyn Johns, Dave Howes, Juan Fajardo,
Jeff Kemper, Mike McDole, Ray Graves and Robert Schwarz and several others
part time. We need 4-5 servers on the taps, pitchers and maybe roving
servers when the line peaks. We also need backups to rotate servers and
handle other tasks.
* After the Hospitality Suite we will cellar kegs for Club night and
store empty kegs.
* Saturday, 8/20 after both Hospitality Suite and Club Night
festivities, Robert Schwarz and Matt Peterson will transport kegs back to B3
for your pickup. Thanks to Matt for volunteering his van for transport to
and from.
People below have offered to provide the beers listed. We are asking each
person to provide a maximum of two beers though several have offered more.
Mike McDole and Mike Mraz (M&M) are each providing 3 or more of their award
winners. Provide 1, 2 or more if you wish and we can use any additional
beers not already offered. If everyone above except M&M provides a maximum
of two beers, we will have 20 kegs, almost 100 gallons, for Hospitality
Suite and Club Night.
1. Dick Fox California Common
2. Mike McDole Calico Amber Clone, Dead Guy Clone,
Celebration Ale
& Tasty Blonde for backup
3. Arlyn Johns IPA, Wit or Belgian Strong
4. Dave Howes Watermelon Wheat
5. Ray Graves English ESB & California Common
6. Robert Schwarz Light Ale & Scotch Ale
7. Dan Sherman Roggenbier
8. Mike Mraz Blind Mice APA, Mild, Sour or Brett
9. Nathan Smith Rauchbier, Imp. IPA, Belgian Strong or Old
Ale
10. Scott Thomas Irish Red, American Rye & Belgian Dubbel
What a selection with few duplicates except in the popular West Coast beers
- Pales, IPA's and Cal Commons! This is going to be a memorable event.
Please let me know of any additions or changes, especially if you plan to
help serve or provide beer and are not listed above. Thanks to everyone
who has volunteered.
