DOZE members,
The 800 second round entries for the 2009 AHA National Homebrew Competition
have started to arrive at Black Diamond Brewing in Concord. As I've
mentioned at our meetings, DOZE is the club that is supporting the cellaring
for the national conference and that includes the competition entries.
I've scheduled three sessions at Black Diamond Brewing next week. On Monday
and Wednesday, I'll need a crew of 8 on each night to do the unpacking of
the entries. On Thursday, I'll need a crew of at least 12 to do the sorting
of the bottles.
The plan is to work from 5:30 to 8:30 each of the three nights. I've already
done some unpacking and based on our results from that session, I'm sure we
can get that done on Monday and Wednesday. The effort for the Thursday sort
is more unknown. There are far more entries than we've ever done before and
we'll be splitting up the three bottle entries into three identical pallets
of beer, 56 cases each.
Let me know if you can help. If you can't get there at 5:30 let me know what
time you can. I promise to be organized and have a smooth operation that
will be fun to work on. If you've never worked on a competition, and DOZE
may someday have one of its own, it's a good chance to see what's involved.
Pizza and a beer provided.
Black Diamond Brewing is located at 2470 Bates Av, Suite C, Concord, CA.
Park around the back of the building.
So, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 5:30 to 8:30. Once I get your responses
I'll send out an email with the schedule.
Thanks,
Mike
